Ron Paul Poll Experiment Results

Nice oneThis is it, the long awaited results of the Experiment. Way back on November 1st, I posted a poll asking whether Ron Paul would get the GOP nomination. This was in response to a near constant onslaught of I’ve received on a couple of my websites (including this one), my myspace account and a couple of my email accounts. Oh yeah, and the fact that I’ve driven under a couple of overpasses and watched hanging painted bed sheets from them.

The results of the look pretty straightforward and simple at first:

One might get the impression from these results that 351 voted - 32% (112) in favor of “Absolutely” getting the nomination along with 9% voting “Probably” and another less confident 6% opting for “Maybe” he’ll be nominated. Well one would be wrong. Like I said, this was an experiment.

Picture of the Day - Religion of Peace

The Islamic groups around the world should consider hiring a good public relation firm if they really expect to believe the whole “ of Peace” thing.

Ron Paul Poll

Ron Paul PortaitThere’s a lot of buzz about this guy. Most of it’s in emails and comments, but a lot of buzz anyway. So Malagent wants to know what you think. Please vote in this and pass it around to your friends so my loyal readers and I can get a better understanding of this guy. After a few days I will close the and write a post or two about my findings. Feel free to comment as well. With the warning that will not only be mocked but may be deleted as well.

The Proliferation of Stupidity

Browsing the for web sites of like minded can provide some rather interesting experiences. Sometimes I end up going in directions and discovering things I had not even thought about. Occasionally this voracious consumption of time and productivity is rewarded with entertainment and enlightenment. Which is one of the reasons I love the - I have an insatiable desire for knowledge. A desire that can be fed with trivial tidbits or the most serious knowledge I can wrap my brain around. I have been described as an infornographer. Mostly in a derogatory context yet I see it as a compliment, as it is debatable where a healthy thirst for knowledge ends and infornography begins. Acquiring an abundance of apparently trivial information is educational and aids in the formation of useful intellectual compulsions for obtaining even more knowledge.

Critical thinking is a very important aspect of this behavior. The ability to identify logical fallacies in the arguments of others, and to avoid them in one’s own arguments, is both valuable and increasingly rare. Fallacious reasoning prohibits us from knowing the truth, and the inability to think critically makes us vulnerable to deception and manipulation by masters of rhetoric. The media & politicians (in general), Michael Moore, the 9/11 truth movement, Keith Olbermann and Alex Jones (infowars.com) are excellent examples. One only has to watch one of the many pseudo-documentaries claiming to be the evidence of some massive conspiracy to see many logical fallacies in action. Michael Moore’s recent movie Sicko showcases his ability to manipulate even the most trivial data to force his ideology on the all too willing masses. Which brings me to what I hate about the - The proliferation of ignorance and .

You can’t Fix Stupid.

It seems that the least intelligent among us tend to shout longer and louder than those who have acquired wisdom and judgment, sadly ignorance often prevails. If you’re thinking that it’s cynical of me to say such a thing or you don’t believe me? Just listen to a random Liberal sometime, watch Keith Olbermann or browse the comments on sites like YouTube or almost any forums around the . Look at almost any conspiracy theory, most notably the 9/11 conspiracies. At best you will find varying degrees of rhetoric amplified by negative remarks and attitudes. At worst you will bombarded with nefarious misinformation, pseudo scientific garbage and outright lies.

Michael Moore, Keith Olbermann, Alex Jones, Dylan Avery, Korey Rowe and others use this to their advantage, they focus on the negative and sell it to the fools. The fools band together protesting, commenting, emailing and complaining about the perceived wrongs. They believe everything the see or hear, so long as it fits their predetermined ideology. Currently it seems this ideology is often driven by an irrational personal disdain for President George W. Bush and or a predisposition to believe anything negative. These have a greater fear and hatred of our President than they do of our countries enemies, than the who actually have killed thousands of Americans.

Silver Dollar Hail

A comparison photo of a hail stone from , in April 2006.
In stunning examples of , ignorance, and selfishness driving on Kellogg (US 54) make sudden stops under overpasses as the unexpected storm started to drop hail. The blocking of traffic on a 60MPH interstate in low visibility caused several accidents.
With four lanes of traffic being blocked in front of me my frustration grew exponentially, not because of the damage to my car, just because I wanted to get around the idiots and continue on my way. Unlike the other drivers I had things to do, most of which were more important than a few dents on my car.

If you live in or anywhere in you have no right to be surprised when there is hail, a thunderstorm, a tornado or any sudden change in the . And you definitely have no right to stop in the middle of a freaking interstate blocking everyone else and causing serious accidents because you don’t want your most likely heavily insured Lexus or crappy Nissan Altima damaged by the storm.

One of the many reasons I have never liked living in , or for that matter - The is, at best wild and unpredictable and at worst, who knows. When lousy, dangerous and mostly unpredictable is coupled with ignorant and inconsiderate you have a truly bad situation.

Fake Coroner Can’t Park - Gets Booted

Sometimes it just feels good to be the one that keeps someone from getting away with it.
One year ago today I had the pleasure of placing a boot (Vehicle Immobilizer) on this van. The driver worked for a mortuary service that bought out the company I used to run. He also lived in the apartments. After several complaints I finally found the vehicle parked in an obvious no parking zone, right next to the sign in fact.
About 8 hours later I received several calls filled with screams and threats of legal action or having the Sheriff come visit me. Eventually, I received the final call asking that I come remove the boot and they would pay the fee. Click on the picure for the full size version and please share it with everyone.Coroner Parking

I am not a photographer, but I play one on Flickr. For a mere fifty cents I tried to purchase this bobble-head miniature from a vending machine. It ended up being one dollar because I got Meg on the first try. I suppose that’s OK because now the cynical baby bent on world domination has someone other than me to ridicule and torment.
